Custom Gear Ratios 1.0.3

Custom Gear Ratios
Tired of Rockstar borking the code and making your car slow down after the 6th gear? Tired of not being able to get out of the 9th gear in Arena Wars? Here’s your fix!

Features
Edit gear ratios
Edit final drive
Edit number of gears
Save presets in XML format
Load presets
Load presets automatically based on model and plate

Installation
1. Put CustomGearRatios.asi and the folder CustomGearRatios in your GTA V folder.
2. Start the game.
3. Open the menu with F8, or the cheat gearratios
Two presets have been included, an AE86 inspired preset for the Futo and a 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R inspired one for the Schlager GT.

Stuff to pay attention to
Technically they’re not bugs but decisions. It’s up to you to convince me to change this stuff where possible.
Drive force is NOT edited. If you need more oomph to get up to your top speed, use a trainer, upgrade your engine or slap on a turbo!
Gearbox stuff is overwritten after tuning the gearbox via Los Santos Customs or trainers. Just re-apply your config when it gets so far.
The controller rumbles in 8th gear: Go slap a Rockstar DLC developer. The game was never updated for anything more than 6 gears.
Can’t downshift in the 9th gear: Slap that dev again! To fix this, use my Manual Transmission mod (where the auto box does downshift!) or limit your gears to 8.
No imperial units: Keep nagging, maybe I’ll put in some effort later.
ModelName might sometimes not work when mod authors set the GameName and ModelName differently. This is not worth fixing on my side so just dive into your add-on vehicles.meta or your xml to fix it.
There’s no rev limiter in this mod. GTA doesn’t limit revs, but Manual Transmission can provide this if wanted.

XML stuff!
Please refer to this readme to check how the thing works.

Recommended mods
A low-friction handling is recommended, to make the top speeds realistically achievable. Killatomate’s handling is a good thing.
Manual Transmission, for the automatic gearbox and/or other shifting modes.

Changelog
v1.0.3
* Add a “ModelHash” field to the XML to fix auto-loading of vehicles with mismatching GameName and ModelName.

v1.0.2
* Add an option to set gear ratios to optimized defaults
* Update menu usage
* Fix an issue where a missing node was reported with an unidentifiably name

v1.0.1
* Add generic auto-loading for models
* You can now save a generic preset that applies to all cars of that model. It is overriden by a license plate specific preset.
* Add an option to override changes GTA makes to the car ratios
* When tuning in Los Santos Customs or using a trainer, the gear ratios can be reset. This option checks the ratios every second and re-applies them if the game has changed them during that time.
* Add a feature to remove gear ratio presets in the Load menu
* You can now mark gear ratios for deletion. The ratios are removed when closing the menu. Caution: The files are permanently removed from disk!
* Experimental: Add a custom CVT (continuously variable transmission) option
* Script emulates a CVT when setting a non-CVT car to have only one gear
* Disable gear ratio changes for real CVT cars
* Cars that have the CVT handling flag set only have one gear and the game doesn’t shift up, so changing the ratios won’t have any effect.
* Add an option to enable or disable notifications
* Fix an issue where the save prompt reads an enter too early, closing it too early
* Fix an issue where DriveForce is overwritten, causing cars to lose all power
* Change how filenames are generated
